Start the car right now
Press the start button with the fob itself, or hold the fob against it. Many Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Nissan and GM cars read a weak fob this way. Some models use a slot or a marked spot in the console or cup holder.
Get in if the fob is dead
Slide out the emergency blade hidden in the fob and use the door lock, often under a small cap on the handle. If the blade was never cut, we cut it to your lock.
If a new battery doesn't fix it
The key may have lost its pairing, or it's failing. Try your spare. If the spare works, the first key needs programming or replacing.
